Job Description

Motion/Product Designer

This company is a venture studio based in Irvine, CA. They are an award-winning team of designers, engineers, and product innovators. They work on their own products as well as partner with global brands to build new and innovative products from the ground up to help them stay competitive in their industries. Although headquartered in California, they also have a vibrant center of operations in Toronto, ON.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead design projects, working closely with cross-functional teams to guide creative direction and foster collaboration. Inspire team members by setting an example of initiative, accountability, and design excellence.
  • Utilize advanced motion design skills to elevate the design output, balancing aesthetics with functionality. 
  • Champion the user experience across all projects. Advocate for design decisions based on research, testing, and user feedback to ensure products are both user-friendly and visually compelling.
  • Work effectively in an agile environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities while maintaining high-quality standards and meeting deadlines.
  • Show genuine enthusiasm for the design process, including design research, testing, and continuous learning. Continuously explore new design methodologies and tools to bring innovative solutions to projects.
  • Embrace feedback from colleagues and stakeholders, demonstrating a growth mindset and a willingness to refine ideas collaboratively.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience as motion/product designer
  • Previous experience working in agile teams is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in design research and usability testing, enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to take initiative, inspire others, and drive projects forward.
  • Ability to validate design decisions and effectively advocate for user experience improvements with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
