Job Description

Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant will oversee financial reporting, manage complex accounting transactions, and ensure compliance with accounting standards. This role plays a critical part in the month-end close process and supports the company's financial health by analyzing financial data and making recommendations for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
  • Perform general ledger account reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of all financial data.
  • Review and approve journal entries and maintain proper documentation.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, identifying trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing accurate financial data and analysis.
  • Assist with external audits by preparing audit schedules and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of regulatory reports, tax filings, and other compliance documents.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Participate in special projects and financial analysis as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including general ledger, financial reporting, and audit.
  • Experience in Agriculture, Construction, or Manufacture industry. 
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (knowledge of IFRS is a plus).
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Famous, or Sage) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership of complex accounting tasks and work independently.
  • Experience with SOX compliance or internal controls is a plus.
