Head of Finance

Hertha Metals is scaling up its revolutionary iron smelting technology. We are looking for a Head of Finance to help drive growth at our clean technology company. You must enjoy working in a fast-paced startup environment where creativity, speed, initiative and cross-functional teamwork are required to succeed. 

Your responsibilities

• Responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including budgeting, financial planning, and financial reporting.

• Lead fundraising efforts, which may involve developing fundraising strategies, cultivating relationships with donors and investors, and managing fundraising campaigns.

• Financial analysis, risk management, and compliance with financial regulations.

• Take ownership of designing the capital stack for financing Hertha's pilot plants, requiring an understanding of project finance

Your experience

• Bachelor’s degree (Accounting, Marketing, Economics). Graduate degree is preferred.

• Minimum of 6 years in a finance role, with preferably at least two years of experience in the metals or commodities industry.

• Proven track record of fundraising in steel, or commodity companies, preferably in a startup environment.

• Must be a subject matter expert at finding and validating funding opportunities.

• Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving startup environment

• Strong team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills.  Good communicator.

Location : on-site at facility in Conroe, Texas just outside of Houston. Possibility of a hybrid schedule, with 3 days in the office, and 2 days of remote work.
