Commercial Lines Underwriter

Remote work-from-home position for someone who resides in Massachusetts (MA), southern New Hampshire (NH) or northern Connecticut (CT).

6-figure salary + 25+ % annual Bonus atop salary + company car + competitive benefits + superior 401K package

Report to Regional Vice President of Commercial Lines

A well respected, financially strong Property & Casualty (P&C) insurer is seeking an accomplished Commercial Lines Underwriter in the MA, NH area.
This is a market facing position tasked with ensuring continued growth with key independent agents in the territory.
Job is visiting larger agents and brokers regularly…..to develop and then underwrite new Workers Compensation business and manage key renewals.
Position is on a dedicated territory team offering underwriting support, claims and loss control.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Function as the agency manager for assigned agents with a primary focus on commercial lines (worker’s compensation and package lines).

Requirements

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Prior underwriting of various classes of standard market Workers Compensation business….focus on middle market to large accounts (mostly calling on larger agents and national brokers).


5+ years commercial lines insurance underwriting in package lines and worker’s compensation in the Property and Casualty insurance market.


Bachelor’s degree.


Working knowledge of commercial multi-line underwriting, pricing and coverage.


Production Underwriting of Workers Compensation for accounts over 150K premiums….new and renewal.


Mono-line Workers Compensation written for unique classes of business (nice to have)


Significant experience in effective sales/marketing and agency relationship techniques including the ability to partner with independent insurance agents.


Preference may be shown for applicants with CPCU and/or ARM designations
