Overview
Are you an experienced finance professional with a knack for managing cost accounting and financial analysis? We are seeking a Temporary CMO Cost Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting, planning, forecasting, and analysis for our Third Party Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO) sites. In this role, you'll handle cost and inventory accounting, manage assets, oversee departmental accruals, and ensure timely, accurate financial information to support strategic business decisions.
Key Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution. CPA or MBA is a plus.
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in Finance and Accounting with a focus on cost accounting. Experience in Process Manufacturing or Pharmaceuticals is advantageous.
Skills:
Solid understanding of GAAP and SOX, with expertise in internal accounting controls and procedures.
Proficiency in cost and inventory accounting.
Strong analytical skills with excellent oral and written communication in English.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with flexible working hours to accommodate UK time differences.
Proven track record of managing multiple projects, setting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
Responsibilities
Budget and Forecast Management:
Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, including capital expenditures.
Document assumptions, risks, and opportunities, and develop documentation, trends, and variance analysis.
Review headcount requisitions to ensure budget alignment and business justifications.
Ensure accuracy in coding and consistency with the budget in purchase requisitions.
Costing and Inventory Accounting:
Prepare month-end journal entries and account reconciliations for inventory.
Conduct balance sheet analytics for relevant accounts.
Develop detailed margin analytics, product costs, and key performance indicators, including explanations of business drivers.
Report on manufacturing variances (material, labor, and overhead) and compare actual versus forecasted product costing.
Interact with auditors, providing necessary documentation for annual audits and SOX compliance.
Develop standard costs and inventory reserves, and oversee annual inventory counts.
Finance Liaison:
Review bill-backs from contract manufacturers and facilitate dispute resolutions.
Train business stakeholders on financial policies and procedures.
Provide financial analysis and modeling to support business decisions.
Additional Responsibilities:
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as needed.
Additional Information
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports.
Interaction: No travel required.
