We are currently accepting applications for a Yard Horse/Switcher. This is a full-time, regular position for someone looking to jumpstart their career. We are looking for candidates with a strong work ethic, good attendance record, and a great attitude.
Shift: Monday - Friday; 7AM to 3:30PM. Home Daily
Job Duties:
Moves trailers in a safe and accurate manner.
Operates various tractor-trailer combinations within the yard and between company holdings.
Ensures compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards and guidelines.
Must work safely and insure all safety requirements are met.
Able to operate computer / tablet for work assignments.
Performs safety inspections of the yard horse and trailer according to DOT regulations.
Job Requirements:
Must be able to pass DOT pre-employment drug screening and meet DOT medical requirement.
Must be available to work overtime and weekends.
Must be comfortable working in all weather conditions.
Capable of standing, walking and repeatedly climbing into and out of switcher and road tractor.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend, and reach.
Ability to push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Required Skills, Abilities and/or Licensure
Good communication skills.
Experience working in a fast-paced transportation environment.
Ability to proficiently communicate both verbally and in written form.
We're willing to train the right candidate who has some experience.
