Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, and psychiatrist Dr. Smiley Blanton, who trained in psychoanalysis with Sigmund Freud. Therapist Role & Responsibilities

A Blanton-Peale therapist is a pivotal member of an interdisciplinary learning community of clinicians – all committed to holistic accessible mental healthcare for New Yorkers. They are passionate about their growth and skills development in the provision of culturally responsive trauma-informed quality care to a diverse clientele. They conduct assessments and provide individual, couples, family and group psychotherapy, as well as participate in community education efforts. Therapists have flexibility to set their 5-day per week work schedule during clinic hours of operation and are primarily on-site, providing a combination of in-person and teletherapy sessions.

• Conduct initial assessments and collaborate in the development of care/treatment plans.
• Provide individual, couples, family, and/or group psychotherapy and mental health supports in a manner that reflects team-based collaborative interdisciplinary care.
• Complete clinical documentation (i.e. assessments, progress notes, care/treatment plans, and discharge plans) in a timely manner according to Office of Mental Health regulations, guidance, and standards of care.
• Contribute to risk identification and management, including both direct and indirect interventions, follow-up, and case conferences.
• Consistently dedicate 85% of time to direct care, meeting contact commitment targets.
• Participate in individual and group clinical supervision as well as other learning opportunities.

Qualifications:

Required:

• NYS Licensed (or Limit Permitted) LMSW, LCSW, MHC, MFT, or Psychoanalyst
• Strong clinical engagement, assessment and intervention skills
• Ability to use web-based Electronic Health Records, Microsoft Office, and Teletherapy platforms
• Excellent interpersonal skills, able to engage clients and collaborate with colleagues
• Communicate effectively (written and verbal) with clients and colleagues in a culturally sensitive and trauma-informed manner.

Preferred:

• 1 or more years of experience working in a community mental health, social services, hospital-based, Clinic, or private practice.
• Ability to provide both in-person and teletherapy sessions
• Black/African, Latinx, Indigenous, AAPI, LGBTQAI+, and multi-lingual providers are strongly encouraged to apply.

The salary range is $60,000-$75,000 commensurate with years of experience, licensure, and bilingual Spanish/English ability (Limited permit $60-65k, LMSW $65-70K, LMFT/LMHC/LP/LCSW $70-75k).
