Organizational Unit Overview: East Carolina University is a public doctoral/research university in Greenville, North Carolina, with an enrollment of nearly 27,000 students. The School of Music, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication, has an enrollment of over 250 music majors and minors with over 50 faculty and staff. The school is fully accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music.
Job Duties: The School of Music seeks qualified applicants for a renewable one-year fixed-term Teaching Instructor or Teaching Assistant Professor to teach applied CLARINET. Other duties may include teaching chamber music or other courses according to expertise. Appropriate research/creative activities and service to the university, community and profession are encouraged.
Minimum Education/Experience: Master's degree in music performance with a concentration in Clarinet. Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions. Evidence of success as a performing artist and applied teacher at the collegiate level required. A demonstrated and ongoing commitment to teaching and performing.
License or Certification Required by Statute or Regulation: None
Preferred Experience, Skills, Training/Education: DMA or PhD in music performance or pedagogy.
