Job Description

Job Summary

The Public Relations and Programming Manager at Fennec is responsible for building and enhancing the customer experience, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, and driving growth for the venue. This role involves developing and implementing marketing campaigns, promoting sporting events, coordinating with sports teams and organizations, and actively engaging with customers to create an exceptional experience.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing and Promotion

  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to drive traffic and increase sales.
  • Managing the sports programming schedules and overseeing the venue viewing schedules.
  • Promote sporting events through various channels including social media, local advertising, and partnerships.
  • Create and manage promotional events and special offers by working with other team members to attract and retain customers.
  • Ensure the venue is equipped and prepared for sporting events and broadcasts.
  • Be in touch with local businesses to dovetail off of neighborhood and local events

Customer Engagement

  • Foster a welcoming and engaging environment for customers.
  • Organize and lead customer-focused events to enhance the overall guest experience.

Coordination with Sports Teams and Organizations

  • Build and maintain relationships with sports teams, organizations, Alumni associations and local leagues.
  • Coordinate with teams, alumni associations and organizations to host events, watch parties, and other promotional activities.

Financial Management

  • Monitor expenses, and revenue to achieve financial targets.
  • Oversee inventory management (merchandise and promotional materials), ordering, and cost control measures.
  • Analyze financial reports to track performance and identify areas of focus or improvement.

  • Team Leadership
    • Assist in training, mentoring, and motivating staff to provide excellent service and adhere to company standards.
    • Promote a positive work environment and ensure high levels of employee satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports or Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in sports bar and restaurant management, with a focus on sports-oriented venues a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of marketing principles and experience in developing marketing strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate staff and customers.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in financial management and reporting.
  • Familiarity with sports industry trends and community engagement practices.
