Responsibilities:
The Senior Engineer provides technical expertise to solve complex problems, and leadership skills to provide project management or oversight of work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision and increased latitude for unreviewed work. Incumbents are expected to have advanced skills and have the ability to work independently.
This position is responsible for the initial design, installation, testing and maintenance of the communication and SCADA control systems that monitor, control, and protect the capital investment that has been made in the Company gas and electric transmission, distribution, and hydroelectric generation and lake level control infrastructure. Performs communication and SCADA system troubleshooting and problem correction. Works with other Gas and Electric departments to coordinate outages, design, build and commissioning new substations, communications systems, and energy management control systems. Work Schedule can include extended hours or overnight stays out of the area. Personnel are subject to 24/7 emergency callout.

Ensures accomplishment of business goals and objectives through effective planning, organizing, estimating, scheduling and monitoring of work activities. Prepares thorough and accurate technical repoVistaNET, SGConfig, correspondence, documentation, calculations and sketches. Skilled in critical thinking and problem-solving skills Strives to continually improve job-related, engineering, technical and professional knowledge, skills and performance. Skilled in developing positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
