Responsibilities:

• Conduct psychological evaluations of students to determine eligibility for special education services.
• Administer and interpret cognitive behavioral socialemotional and academic assessments.
• Identify students needs through comprehensive psychological assessments including observation and consultation.
• Participate in the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) by interpreting data and making recommendations for educational interventions.
• Provide direct services to students including counseling and behavioral intervention.
• Develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with behavioral challenges.
• Consult with teachers administrators and parents to address learning emotional and behavioral concerns.
• Work collaboratively with other members of the educational team to design and implement strategies to help students succeed in the classroom.
• Support and collaborate with staff to develop classroom management strategies and accommodations.
• Provide crisis intervention and support during emergencies such as student emotional crises or traumatic events.
• Conduct risk assessments and provide interventions for students at risk of harm to themselves or others.
• Analyze data to evaluate student progress and the effectiveness of interventions.
• Monitor and report on student progress adjusting interventions as necessary.
• Provide professional development and training for school staff on topics such as mental health awareness traumainformed practices and behavior management.
• Stay current with best practices in school psychology and participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Psychologist Endorsement (required).
• Prior experience working as a school psychologist or in a related educational setting is preferred.
• Strong assessment consultation and counseling skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with staff students and parents.
• Ability to handle crises and challenging situations with calmness and professionalism.
