Vendor is seeking a Sr. Power BI Developer, with Microsoft Fabric experience, for a 6-month, remote, contract-to-hire opportunity. This position is pivotal in supporting internal analytics teams and crafting external customer-facing dashboards that meet functional and aesthetic needs. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in guiding analysts through the new data environment, facilitating a seamless transition from legacy systems to a new, modern, structured data warehouse operating on Microsoft Fabric. Key responsibilities include building initial external dashboards, offering technical mentorship to analysts, and identifying and resolving data-related issues to optimize performance and accuracy.
The successful candidate will possess a solid understanding of Power BI, particularly in modeling, report optimization, and development of semantic layers, with an emphasis on building external-customer dashboards and reports. Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, including using notebooks with Python and Spark, is essential. We are looking for a team player with a strong background in dashboard development for external users and an awareness of the nuances between Azure and Fabric Power BI. This role offers a flexible hybrid work environment with a preference for candidates located in the Chicagoland area. Compensation is competitive, with full-time positions up to $140K, plus bonus and benefits.
