Job Description

Large managed care company is looking for a Patient Care Coordinator with excellent customer service and computer skills for a contract to hire position.

WORK LOCATION: 26635 US Highway 380 E, Providence Village, TX  76227

PAY: $18.00

CONTRACT DATES: CONTRACT TO HIRE

HOURS: M-F, 8-5

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Interact with customers in a courteous manner in person and via telephone
• Complete check in and check out tasks
• Schedule new and existing patients
• Verify insurance and complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures
• Answer back-line telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns and take messages as needed.
• Sorting of documents received via facsimile and distribution of incoming postal mail
• Scanning of all patients’ (demographic) paperwork to patient chart and assist with batch scan filing

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or GED
• Excellent CPT and ICD-9 coding skills
• General knowledge of medical terminology
• 1+ year of medical business office experience is preferred
• Familiarity with medical billing and collection procedures is preferred
• Experience with EMR computer applications is preferred
• This position requires Tuberculosis screening as well as proof of immunity to Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis through lab confirmation of immunity, documented evidence of vaccination, or a doctor’s diagnosis of disease
