Reporting to the Director, OHIO Online Graduate Student Enrollment, the OHIO Online Graduate Application Reviewer represents the University by coordinating with Enrollment Advisors, Faculty Program Directors, Graduate College and other University personnel to support online graduate programs applicants in submitting all required application materials. Once each applicant's file is completed, the Application Reviewer reads, reviews, and makes admissions decisions (or refers the file to Faculty Program Director for final decision), based on established program admission criteria. Contributes to the success of initiatives designed to identify, attract, admit, and enroll students in Ohio University's graduate online programs.

Job Responsibilities Include:
  • Track online program submitted applications monitoring for completed files and coordinate with Enrollment Advisors to support students in submitting all needed documentation. Perform comprehensive evaluation of applicant materials for OHIO online graduate programs. Liaise with Graduate College to resolve specific applicant issues. Review completed applications, evaluating against documented admission criteria. Exercise independent judgement and use knowledge of program requirements and needs to make admissions decisions or refer to Faculty Program Director for final review and decision. Record relevant data to contribute to tracking process for each applicant. Follow operational procedures to effectively make objective admission decisions in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with Program Directors about application concerns or exceptions. Assist Faculty Program Director in admission decisions when necessary. Review application process with Faculty Program Directors each application cycle to update requirements, stay current on CRM workflow processes, monitor quality of applicants, and suggest data-supported adjustments when required.
  • Assist in the strategic process development and improvement of standardizing the online graduate programs applicant review process and the institutional objective of reducing the time to provide admissions decisions to applicants, among other strategic institutional priorities. Utilize internal data and metrics to assist in reevaluation of best processes and continuous improvement. Effectively communicate quality of applicants for appropriate cross-functional and internal team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of related work experience


This position reviews applications for master degree programs; the incumbent must be able to knowledgeably and authentically espouse the benefits of postsecondary education and attainment of a bachelor's and preferably a master's degree. Holding a degree, particularly a master's degree is important to the incumbent's credibility, especially during committee review deliberations, and success in the position.

The target hiring range is $16.84 to $21.48 per hour, commensurate with the selected candidate's education and experience while considering internal equity.
