**Job Title: Manual Lathe Machinist** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to join our team. Be part of a team that has built impressive projects like rocket components and missiles. **Responsibilities** + Set up, adjust, and operate basic or specialized machine tools for precision machining operations. + Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines. + Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers or vernier calipers. + Machine parts to specifications using machine tools like lathes, milling machines, shapers, or grinders. + Measure, examine, or test completed units to ensure conformance to specifications. + Monitor machine feed and speed during the machining process. + Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition. + Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine fabrication methods. + Program numerically controlled machine tools and diagnose malfunctions for adjustments or repairs. + Lay out, measure, and mark metal stock for cutting. + Fit and assemble parts for machine tools. + Set up or operate metalworking, brazing, heat-treating, welding, or cutting equipment. + Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations. + Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes for improved efficiency. + Dismantle machines or equipment to examine parts for defects and replace defective parts. + Install repaired parts into equipment or install new equipment. **Essential Skills** + Experience operating Haas machines. + Experience working in a custom machine shop. + Proficiency in reading blueprints and using machining tools. + Experience with Mill, Lathe, and Calipers. + High School Diploma or equivalent. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Technical School Certificate in machining. + Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role. + Experience with American, Bridgeport, LeBlond, and Kingston machines is preferred. **Work Environment** The work is carried out in a fabrication shop that is enclosed but not climate-controlled. The environment is typical of a fabrication shop-rugged, dirty, and rough-but provides a unique opportunity to work with a range of equipment and projects. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract position based out of Pulaski, TN. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
