The Department of Sociology at Brandeis University seeks an instructor for the SOC 155b Protest, Politics and Change: Social Movements , 4 credit  course in Spring 2024.
This course i ntroduces major sociological theories about leadership, political context, culture, and identities in social movements in transnational perspective. Examines historical and contemporary cases of social movements through the lenses of race, gender, class, and sexuality. This class meets on M/W 4:05-5:25pm .
Candidates with an MA in Sociology or related field and teaching or research experience related to the areas of political sociology and social movements will be given preference. Interested individuals should submit a cover letter, CV, a draft course syllabus, and names and contact information for two references. The deadline for first consideration is October 10, 2023.
This appointment is to a position that is in a collective bargaining unit represented by SEIU Local 509.
