Job Description

Interim Position from November until June 30, 2025

This is a full-time, exempt position teaching Middle and Upper School French from November until June 30, 2025, reporting to the Head of Middle School.

Major Responsibility

Teach two sections of Middle French and three sections of Upper School French.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must:

• Share a deep passion for French
• Have experience teaching French to middle school (Grades 6, 7, 8) and/or upper-school (Grades 9-12) students
• Have experience in immersion-based teaching (90% + target language)
• Demonstrate the ability to execute lessons using authentic resources, games, and songs
• Demonstrate knowledge of Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) techniques and engage multiple modalities so that students can retain information.
• Have experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and work to create a supportive atmosphere and rigorous academic program in which all students thrive
• Demonstrated competence in applying global diversity perspectives to language instruction

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

• Maturity, collegiality, flexibility, humor
• Excellent speaking and writing skills
• 3-5 years of teaching experience preferred
• BA in Education or related field; (MA in French, Foreign Language instruction, or a related field not required but preferred)
• Knowledge of Spanish would be a wonderful addition
• Superior level of proficiency in French
