Hospice Music Therapist
Full-time

Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor's degree or higher
• 6+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
  • Geriatric Care
  • Senior Care
  • Geriatric/LTC
• 6+ years of experience in ANY of the following:
  • Hospice
  • Healthcare
  • Palliative Care
• Valid MT-BC
• Valid Music Therapy license in the state of Michigan (MI)

Overview:
Our award-winning client is seeking a compassionate Hospice Music Therapist to provide professional music therapy to patients in accordance with company protocols. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Music Therapy degree, current Board certification, and relevant experience in geriatric and end-of-life/terminal illness healthcare.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consistent professional music therapy in accordance with company protocols and accepted certification practices
• Effectively inform and educate patients, staff, and facility partners about music therapy
• Establish therapy objectives as part of the patient assessment
• Plan, review, and assess therapy sessions to monitor effectiveness and to aid in the planning of subsequent sessions
• Take an active role in sessions by playing instruments, singing, and listening
• Encourage patients to take part in the session and support them by responding musically and improvising with music as a reaction to what the client is communicating to give comfort during the last stages of life
• Support the patient's creative development and facilitate positive changes in their behavior and well-being

Schedule and Shift Details:
