Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our diverse and growing healthcare team in Iowa. The FNP will provide comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages, from pediatrics to geriatrics. This role involves working autonomously and in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a commitment to preventive care, and a passion for serving diverse populations.
Responsibilities:
* Patient Care:
* Conduct comprehensive health assessments, including obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering/performing diagnostic tests.
* Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, including prescribing medications, therapies, and other interventions.
* Provide patient education and counseling on disease prevention, health maintenance, and lifestyle changes to promote overall well-being.
* Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and others, including medication management and follow-up care.
* Address acute illnesses and injuries, providing timely diagnosis and treatment.
* Perform minor procedures such as suturing and wound care.
* Collaboration:
* Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive care.
* Collaborate with specialists and refer patients as necessary for advanced care or specialized treatments.
* Documentation & Compliance:
* Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR) for all patient encounters.
* Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including maintaining proper licensure and certifications.
* Follow evidence-based guidelines, protocols, and best practices to ensure high standards of care.
* Professional Development:
* Stay current with medical advancements, new treatments, and emerging health issues by participating in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
* Education:
* Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited nursing program.
* Current certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
* Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in Iowa.
* Experience:
* Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner preferred, but all applicants with relevant clinical rotations will be considered.
* Experience in primary care, urgent care, or family medicine settings is highly desirable.
