Job Description

Civil Engineering Drafter

Responsibilities:

• Creating Detailed Drawings: Develop detailed drawings and plans for civil engineering projects such as highways, bridges, and water systems using CAD software.
• Interpreting Specifications: Work closely with civil engineers and architects to understand project requirements and technical specifications
• Conducting Site Visits: Visit project sites to gather data and assess project needs
• Ensuring Compliance: Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and local planning codes
• Collaborating with Teams: Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to develop and refine project plans
• Revising Designs: Update and revise drawings based on feedback and changes in project scope
• Providing Technical Support: Offer technical support to construction crews and project managers during the building phase
  
  

Qualifications:

• Education: An associate degree in drafting, civil engineering, architecture, or a related field is often required
• Software Proficiency: Proficiency in CAD software is essential. Familiarity with 3D modeling tools can be an advantage
• Technical Skills: Strong understanding of civil engineering concepts and drafting techniques. Excellent mathematical skills and attention to detail are crucial for creating accurate and precise drawings
• Communication Skills: Good communication skills to collaborate effectively
