Your Role: As our
Environmental Geologist , you will help support critical environmental investigations and remediation efforts. You’ll perform fieldwork, analyze environmental data, and ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget, while meeting A-Zone’s high standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities: - Assist in the preparation and implementation of project plans, including Accident Prevention Plans, Sampling and Analysis Plans, and Field Sampling Plans.
- Support field investigations and sampling projects.
- Maintain and oversee groundwater treatment systems, including both routine and unscheduled maintenance.
- Oversee field work projects such as underground storage tank removals, earthwork activities, and demolition of various buildings and structures.
- Analyze raw environmental data and produce comprehensive reports and deliverables.
- Coordinate field activities, including managing vendors, equipment, and permits for fieldwork.
- Implement and ensure adherence to site safety plans during field operations.
Requirements: - A positive attitude
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel 75% of time
- Must be able to pass a background check and obtain secret security clearance for government contract projects
- Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Environmental Science or related field
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification
Desired Knowledge and Skills: - Ability to read maps and construction drawings
- Excellent communication and technical writing skills
- Fluency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience in soil and groundwater sampling
- Experience in the set-up and operation of field metering equipment
- Familiarity with filling out daily safety and performance reports
- Ability to work independently, supervise field teams, and manage subcontractors
