PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Become an industry expert by developing deep understanding of our diverse business, customers, and processes
- Use your skills to make NOV an industry leader by getting to market faster with new products and product enhancements
- Become a technical presence in the team and engineering organization by contributing to new concepts and product design reviews
- Improve the brand name by developing the best in industry products by advancing technology and reliability of current product offering
- To be a large contributor to team success by executing multiple projects and tasks while meeting expectations of our internal & external customers
- Integrate into a talented team which is responsible for the key product lines for MDT's data delivery and control systems.
- Augment the team skill of launching new products and the list of successful product launches
- Take calculated risk, learn from every experience, and share your knowledge
WORK DAY - Contribute to understanding the feasibility of new ideas & conducting research to develop concepts for achieving project objectives. Stays informed and knowledgeable of current and future engineering/technology trends in their area of engineering discipline responsibility. Work with project managers to accurately estimate individual work efforts, support overall project planning, create defining technical project documentation, manage risk of the project.
- Contribute to the new product development, contribute to the architectural definition of new product designs and extensions, develop applications and rapid prototypes of controls, instruments, and systems for production and support uses.
- Contribute to field testing / design validation of products at test sites & customer industrial sites
- Contribute to commercialization activities, product/manufacturing/test documentation
- Contribute to the ongoing support of all MDT surface product lines: industrial sensors, gas detection, data acquisition, & controls.
Competencies - Desired: BS Degree in Electrical Engineering, demonstrated abilities in development of new and maintain systems, mix of mechanical/electrical/software system level design experience, ability to specify system components to meet requirements, create system level schematics, understanding of sensor technologies, hands on experience building prototypes, understanding of programmable logic controllers (PLC), Ladder logic, and functional block diagrams, experience developing test fixtures and implementation of FAT (Factory Acceptance Test) procedures for manufacturing teams
- Beneficial: Product lifecycle management, designing systems to meet standards such as UL & EMC , project management experience
