Job Summary: This individual will be responsible for performing heavy SQL data analysis in support of Business

Analysts and Project Managers. In addition, develops, administers, maintains, and supports policies and procedures for

creating interfaces between and/or converting data from client existing and legacy systems to Geographic Solutions

systems. Designs programming specifications through interaction with business owners and subject matter experts.

Ensures correct functionality and accuracy of the interface or conversion scripts. Familiar with the standard concepts,

practices, and procedures within the labor market industry as well as job services concepts. Relies on direction and good

judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Works under general supervision.

THIS IS A HYBRID POSITION. CANDIDATE MUST COME TO WORK AT CORPORATE OFFICE IN PALM HARBOR, FL

Key Responsibilities:

• Handling table changes in SQL as it relates to specific client configured data
• Merging records and/or other client requested data change requests in SQL and GUI with recommendations on how to resolve
• Testing data in various environments, including but not limited to: automated interfaces, Virtual OneStop GUI, nightly batch processes; verification of converted legacy data
• Troubleshoot Federal reporting issues as identified by clients
• Resolving issues identified by clients or internal staff where GUI may have caused inaccurate data to be recorded
• Work directly with clients to discuss issues, propose solutions to correct data issues, implement the resolution and follow up on the resolutions
• Make recommendations (written and verbal) on how changes could be implemented to improve the overall data quality
• Designs advanced SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, scripts, cursors
• Leads/assists in data conversion and data migration projects Assists business analysts and end-users with reporting needs
• Collaborates with applications developers to ensure correct data and data structure to support evolving development
• Understands Full Development Life Cycle & RDBMS Develops processes for nightly builds, and deployment Optimizes and improves SQL code for better performance
• Develops programming specifications through interaction with business unit subject matter experts
• Works closely with the Team Lead and Analysts throughout the change request process to insure the delivery of an accurate solution
• Processes change requests through OPC ticket system, including application wide data changes Estimates the level of effort required to complete a project or change request
• Prepares and update technical documentation
• May also be assigned various projects and tasks as needed

Communication Skills:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Ability to interface with wide range of individuals, both internally (Project Managers, Business Analysts,

Programmers) as well as external clients

Requirements

GSI Four Quadrants of Knowledge:

GSI has defined four quadrants of knowledge for Data Specialist/Systems Integration Analyst. These areas are broken into Project Management, Technical, Program, and System. Details on each are demonstrated below. A Data Specialist/Systems Integration Analyst. I have significant experience in four of these quadrants.

• Project Management
• PMP, SCM, Six Sigma, etc.
• Experience level – Dollar value, Staff size, etc. of projects, Number of Projects, etc.
• Communication skills
• Technical
• SQL skills, MS Office, MS Project
• System analysis skills
• Ability to write specifications, trace data, etc.
• Must possess strong MSSQL skills (including proficiency with data tables, merges, table changes)
• Workforce development experience highly desired, two or more years’ experience with data analysis in a software/IT development setting strongly preferred
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to write simple and/or complex SQL queries as needed
• Excellent interpersonal and time management skills essential
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to document database designs and conversion maps
• Familiarity with data corruption and database recoverability methods
• Ability to learn and master the business rules associated with our applications and how they interact with the data and data structure
• Ability to monitor and resolve database performance issues
• Advanced Microsoft SQL Server knowledge (to include advanced querying in T-SQL, stored procedures, indexes, triggers, SSIS, import and export capabilities)
• Program - understanding of specific programs
• WIOA, UI programs, Tax, WP, Trade, SNAP, TANF, etc.
• Level of proficiency in these programs

Knowledge that is a plus:

• Understanding of the Virtual OneStop system
• Understanding of the OPC/Intranet
• Understanding of Unemployment Insurance and/or WorkForce program and/or program concepts and functionality
• Experience in the labor market, Unemployment Insurance or regulatory occupation industries preferred.

Special Requirements:

• May also be assigned various projects and tasks as needed
• May be required to travel to client locations for data conversion planning sessions
