Cook County School District 130 continues to recruit, interview, and hire employees virtually during school closures. The District is conducting interviews via phone and Google Meets. In addition, our onboarding process for new employees is virtually paperless and can be completed remotely. Cook County School District 130 serves nearly 4,000 students in grades pre-kindergarten through eighth grade at twelve school sites. The district services students and families living in the communities of Alsip, Blue Island, Crestwood, and Robbins. Our schools are known for their talented teachers and staff, welcoming environments, and diverse student populations. We pride ourselves on providing students with rigorous and engaging learning opportunities, with an emphasis on developing students who are flexible thinkers and adaptive problem solvers. Our staff understands the importance of establishing positive relationships with each other, the students and their families. All members of the school community are expected to be positive and supportive of each other, while working together to improve students’ experiences and our schools. Teachers work collaboratively within professional learning communities to support each other as they seek to improve teaching and learning. New teachers are supported through a comprehensive mentoring program and an on boarding process designed to ensure a smooth transition into the individual’s new position. Our supportive culture, family atmosphere, and our staff’s dedication to establishing positive relationships with students and families is what makes Cook County School District 130 unique.
