About the Role
Are you passionate about improving patient care and enhancing the connection between patients and their healthcare providers? We are seeking a dedicated Remote Medical Assistant - Healthguide to join our team. In this role, you'll work closely with patients and medical practice staff to support their healthcare journey and ensure they receive the best care possible. This position is fully remote with occasional travel required to client locations within the Reading, Harrisburg, and Allentown area (up to 10%).
What You'll Be Doing
Remote Collaboration: Work from home to connect with patients and medical practice staff, as well as with our Case Management team to manage a targeted group of patients.
Patient Engagement: Assist patients in navigating their care, addressing their questions and concerns, and connecting them with necessary resources. Help implement effective care plans and close care gaps.
Documentation: Maintain accurate records of patient medical histories and issues in the electronic health record (EHR).
Referral and Authorization: Understand and assist with the referral and prior authorization processes.
Relationship Building: Develop and sustain professional relationships with medical practices and our organization to support positive patient outcomes and reduce medical spend.
Communication: Use various communication methods (calls, texts, emails) to engage with high-risk patients and escalate medical issues when necessary.
Travel: Occasionally visit primary care physician offices as needed.
Security: Follow all policies and procedures to protect patient information and organizational assets.
What We're Looking For
Certification: Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
Patient Coordination: A passion for coordinating care for patients with complex medical and social needs.
Empathy and Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, including motivational interviewing, critical listening, and behavioral change management.
Experience: Proficiency in medical terminology and understanding of primary care practices.
Bilingual Skills: Spanish language skills are a plus.
Technical Skills: Experience with EHRs (e.g., EPIC, Athena, Cerner) and comfort with various software programs.
Attention to Detail: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining accuracy.

Compensation
The hourly wage for this role ranges from $20 to $23, with bi-weekly pay. Compensation is based on factors such as experience, education, location, and certifications.
