Job Description

Our busy law firm is growing, and we are looking for a bankruptcy attorney familiar with Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 practice. Note that this is an in-house position (NOT remote). Candidates must live in Connecticut, within 30 minutes of Hartford, and be barred in Connecticut to be considered for this position. The ideal candidate will work seamlessly with both attorneys and staff in order to serve clients effectively. If you have excellent people skills, can research and write legal documents, and can easily use today’s technology, we would love to connect! Responsibilities:

• Analyze client needs, identify solutions, and determine case strategies
• Prepare various legal documents, such as motions, pleadings, briefs, and correspondence
• Advise clients by weighing available options toward a successful outcome and plan a course of action
• Manage administrative assistants, paralegals, and law clerks

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs is needed
• Work independently while handling a heavy caseload
• Public speaking, decision-making, communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are necessary for this role
• Strong knowledge of legal research programs such as Westlaw and Lexis products is required
• Required Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school; representation of clients for at least 2 years a plus
