Classification Pay Scale
In compliance with SB 1162, Western University of Health Sciences is providing a pay scale for this position. The pay scale reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within this range, the individual pay is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, and work location. Please note that the compensation details listed reflects the base salary only.

Expected Pay Scale
Minimum: $100,000.00
Maximum $113,300.00

Job Summary

We are seeking a colleague to contribute to the college’s mission to educate veterinary professionals and advance knowledge to address the contemporary needs of society. This team member will:

  • Provide content expertise in one or more Clinical Specialties, contributing to scholarly advancement of the clinical science, and incorporating a specific discipline in the veterinary curriculum.
    • The CVM utilizes a Distributive model for clinical education. Please indicate in the cover letter any expertise you have in the delivery of distributed clinical education, and in any of the following clinical disciplines that are recognized by the AVMA’s American Board of Veterinary Specialties ( ABVS ):

  • The CVM implements an innovative Problem-Based Learning ( PBL ) curriculum during the pre-clinical years.

  • Assume various teaching roles, when required, to meet curricular demands and as assigned by the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
  • Provide support in the training of students in all levels of the DVM curriculum.
  • Serve on college and university standing committees.

  4. Knowledge of educational needs for contemporary veterinary practice.
  5. Knowledge and skills in his/her discipline.


Required Qualifications

EDUCATION : An advanced degree (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (ie, DVM , VMD ), PhD, or equivalent degree) in the discipline of expertise is required.

LICENSURE (if applicable): Actively licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Veterinarian in the state of California preferred. Current Veterinary specialty board certification preferred.
