Job Description

Mission Technologies is looking to hire a driven Aerospace Mission Equipment Engineer to provide onsite managerial and technical support for the Army Futures Command and the Mission Equipment Division (MED) in Huntsville, Alabama . The Army’s MED allows its engineers and analysts to gain experience in various programs, including Research and development, Fielding and implementation, and Sustainment Engineering programs supporting the DoD Aerospace Industry. In addition, HII engineers and analysts set the standard of professional and ethical conduct and participate in diverse professional development opportunities.

Essential Job Responsibilities

• Support government engineers with expert advice, analysis, research, and technical guidance for mission equipment engineering solutions for US Army rotary or unmanned aircraft systems.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant scientific principles and application methods/procedures and integrate the same into aerospace engineering projects using sound engineering practices.
• Maintain knowledge of relevant maintenance policies, procedures, technical manuals, and electronic resources related to aviation depot maintenance repair and overhaul operations.
• All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or greater in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, or Materials Engineering fields.
• 2 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor's in a related field; 0 years of experience with a Master’s.
  • Acceptable relevant experience is not limited to the aerospace industry. Candidates interested in gaining aerospace industry experience are encouraged to apply.
• Experienced providing in evaluating technical dispositions, policies, plans, procedures, and technical requirements.
• Experience providing design and analysis support for avionics, flight controls, flight management, communication, and navigation systems.
• Proficient in writing detailed technical substantiation analyses, reports, and briefings.
• Knowledge and experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, repair manuals, and technical reports.
• Possess strong listening, written, and oral communication skills.
• Competence in MS Office and related software/programs.
• Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  
  

Preferred Requirements

• Greater than 5 years of relevant experience with DoD avionics, flight controls, flight management, communication, and navigation systems.
• Greater than 5 years of providing Acquisitions, Development, Test & Review support for DoD aircraft.
• Department of Defense Aviation Depot Maintenance repair or overhaul operations experience.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Office and industrial environment. Lifting and moving materials should stay within the guidelines for a one-person lift.
