Accounts Payable Specialist
Location: Chicago, IL (On-site)
Compensation: $27–$30 per hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team in Chicago, IL. This position is responsible for managing the full cycle of accounts payable, including invoice processing, three-way matching, vendor management, and payment processing. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process a high volume of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently, ensuring proper coding and approval.
• Perform three-way matching (purchase order, receipt, and invoice) to verify accuracy before payment.
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payments.
• Maintain accurate and organized AP records and documentation.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including accruals and reconciliations.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Support internal departments by providing payment status updates and resolving invoice issues.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of full-cycle accounts payable experience, including three-way matching.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with ERP/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
