Job Description

Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accountant to join our client on a contract to permanent basis. This role requires a strong background in accounting processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Below are the primary responsibilities and expectations for this position: Primary Responsibilities (Top Priorities): + Manage a high-volume accounts payable process, including the regular reconciliation of vendor statements. + Review and validate production cost codes to ensure proper coding, and prepare reclass journal entries when necessary. + Conduct reviews of intercompany expense accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies. + Prepare Selling, General & Administrative (SG& A) accruals at month-end. Additional Responsibilities: + Prepare Profit Analyses and review gross profit margins for each sales contract. + Conduct job cost reviews to identify and resolve budget variances, cost code errors, and invoice posting errors in collaboration with relevant departments. + Execute monthly close procedures and ensure reporting deadlines are consistently met. + Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations. + Post bank deposits and generate related cash receipt journals. + Ensure timely payment of property taxes and monthly amortization transactions. + Monitor fixed asset purchases to guarantee timely capitalization and depreciation of assets. + Prepare Business & Occupation (B& O) excise tax returns, complete the approval process, and finalize documentation Requirements + Strong background in accounts payable processes, reconciliations, and journal entries. + Proficiency in reviewing cost codes, intercompany transactions, and expense management. + Experience with monthly close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting. + Knowledge of property tax payments, fixed assets, and excise tax return filings is preferred. + Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. + Ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
