Chipton-Ross is seeking 10 Manufacturing Engineers (Assembly and Installation - Level 3) contract opportunity for a contract opportunity in San Antonio, TX.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Bachelor's degree in STEM (ABET accredited)
o 5 + years knowledge and experience of assembly and production processes, manufacturing capabilities (e.g., composites, structures), and data needed for defining delivery configurations (e.g., design definition, program directives, engineering drawings, change memos, wiring diagrams and schematics, functional tests, supplier data).
o Ability to read and interpret old 2D drawings
o Familiarity with aerospace parts/products
o Proficient in computer skills including Microsoft & CATIA
o If hired, successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and implements production and tooling methodologies. Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines. Develops, identifies and implements conceptual designs and maintains the program architecture for build. Leads and implements manufacturing plans. Conducts producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements. Assists in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and helps document producibility best practices. Analyzes design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions. Resolves technical problems of significant impact to performance, cost or schedule. Coordinates and implements new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts. Validates and ensures production readiness of solutions to complex problems. Implements lean principles and technologies. Work statement is a non-managerial role, non-leadership role. Duties may include (but are not limited to):
o Implements design and build plan changes, minimizing disruption while capturing maximum benefits through highly collaborative behavior and processes championed by Manufacturing Engineering and inclusive of all the stakeholders in the change.
o Responsible for integrating changes to the affected commodities and executing the Build Integration milestones.
o Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports. Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
o Support the execution of the Build Integration process by providing visibility of active engineering design changes and associated risks to milestones and ensuring design changes advance through the review process.
o Lead collaboration and integration across the affected commodities.
o Develop and implement manufacturing plans.
o Create installation planning and supporting installation planning shipside in San Antonio.
o Support team performance by participating in process/tool improvement projects.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE):
o Experience with GoldEsp
o Experience IVT
o Experience with out of production aircraft sustainment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
The candidate must be able to go up and down stairs, work in small spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
WORK HOURS:
FULL TIME/VARIABLE; All submitted candidates should be available to work variable shifts based on business need, 1st and 2nd.
